It doesn't look bad but who's going to buy it? To my knowledge the regular CC hasn't sold that well and VW already has roughly this size wagon.

Always wanted a cc, nearly bought one last year...I like how it makes a Passat more interesting. And a cc wagon with vr6 and 4motion....sign me up!

How does the CC do in Europe? It is pretty much an afterthought in the States, to the point that if I were the VW product planner here it would be the first or second car to go, right after the Eos. I drove a CC last week and while it was nice in a generic sense, it looks too much like my Passat on the inside (which makes sense) and you have to make too many sacrifices to have what is essentially a cheap version of the CLS.

The first CC didn't look so great in my opinion ... they fixed part of it, but it's still a Passat underneath. This one might just end up looking good enough to make a difference.

That said, rear visibility ftl.

It might not be too far fetched. Skoda already has Octavia Combi vRS and Fabia Combi vRS so why not.

Yeah, that's why I though of it anyway. You'd never see the bigger four-pot appear in the Fabia, as that's based on the Polo IIRC; ergo the biggest engine it gets is the 1.4 TSI.

The Rapid, though, is based on the Golf, so it might just as well share some of the better parts.

If you threw a lot of money at it, you could indeed end up with a more individual car; but most of them remained pretty ... pedestrian. To me, there's not much of a point in making a car with a très chic exterior that looks just as dull on the inside as the car it's based on (see also: A4 vs A5 Coupe & SB).

VW doesn't do Passat wagons in the US now....it's Jetta wagons and tumbleturd Tiguans.

Can't speak on behalf of the rest of Europe. But in my tiny little town (pop. less than 30k) here in Norway there are approx. 10 CCs.. Now I'd say that's quite a few, but it all depends on how you look at it.
